My Westie - Incessant Barking |
|
This question about a westie tarining problem concerning barking was posted on our busy Westie forum:
----------------------------------------
I am sooooooooooooo frustrated with this. I have tried everything I know to stop his incessant barking at the TV and when the tenant comes over to visit.
I have tried, a shake can, sight deprivation of the TV, putting him in his crate, teaching him to bark, spraying him with water, and even a bike horn. I finally did the unthinkable for me and went and bought a citronella anti-bark collar. And that is not even working.
I can't even tune him out as his bark is high pitched and ear splitting.
There I am done venting, we know return control of your forum to yo0

Westie Owner (Dolores) From Mexico - Dia de Muertos |
|
Next November 2nd, in Mexico we will celebrate Dia de Muertos, "The Day of the Dead". ( Spiritual Ritual). It has no similarity to Halloween.
From pre Columbian times, El Día de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead
has been celebrated in Mexico, and other Latin countries. This is a very
special ritual, since it is the day in which the living remember their
departed relatives. Sometimes, when people of other cultures hear for the
first time about the celebration of the Day of the Dead, they mistakenly
think it must be: gruesome, terrifying, scary, ugly and sad.

Westie Puppy Sleeping Through The Night |
|
This is one of the recent posts from our Westie Forum It was posted by Alyse, one of our new members and it concerns her Westie puppy sleeping through the night. She is not getting much herself and it is affecting everyone in her home.
-------------------------------------------------
Dulce is only about 14 weeks old, and we've had her for about 6 days now. I know it takes time to get her trained to sleep through the night, but I could really use some expert advice on the subject, so that she is not barking at 3:45 or 4:30 am.
She falls asleep for the final time at night somewhere between 10:30 and 11:30, but then is up before the sun, and then sleeps for about an hour at a time or so sporadically throughout the day. HELP!!!
I know that having a puppy is just like raising a baby, and that they get up at all hours throughout the night, but will this ever regulate? And if so how long will it take? Will we have to adjust elements in her daily routine to keep her from waking up at 4am?
I could use all the advice I can get right now, because a lack of sleep from everyone in the house is not looking too good right now.

Member's Feedback
The Crazy About Westies forum is a lifeline. I am unable to pursue a wide social life due to health problems, but through 'Crazy' the internet brings friends to me; like-minded friends, people who are loving and kind, tolerant and accepting, helpful and fun loving.
It is a lovely community, one where you never feel alone and can always find helpful advice , friendly chat and learn about other countries and cultures from the cosmopolitan range of members.
